Good morning Virginia:

Three times in the last week I have opened your email to begin a response and I have been pulled off because of the crush of other business. I simply do not have the time during this busy election year to engage in a drawn-out email discussion with you, particularly since you seem to make it a point to try and debate me in writing over every single point and condemn every individual with any responsibility related to tally equipment. As you can see, I'm answering this email at 4:45 a.m. and I have much more to do before the regular work day begins. If you would care to make an appointment with me I will continue the
discussion below with you.

In regards to Jackson County I suggest you start by calling Kathy Beckett, the Jackson County clerk. I also suggest you do it quickly. She is retiring at the end of January. She has the most direct knowledge of the situation because she was there and she oversaw the hand recount that confirmed that the machine's tallies were correct. Also, FYI, Jackson County purchased all new tally equipment in 2007. The tally machine in question is no longer used.
